Polk Outpost 27, Central Florida’s official visitor information center, recently added a new element to the experience – a store filled with items unique to Polk County. The store, which opened mid May, features hand-crafted items from local vendors, including one-of-a-kind jewelry, designer t-shirts, hand bags, and original art pieces. Shoppers can also take home some of Polk County’s local flavors by purchasing items like Davidson of Dundee’s marmalades and jellied candies, chocolate from Webb’s candy factory, orange blossom honey from Leighton’s, soup from the Chalet Suzanne Restaurant, and Florida Natural’s citrus juices.
Some of the best-selling items to date include alligator paraphernalia, such as stuffed versions of the reptiles–not the orange and blue kind though–the real thing.
Make the Polk Outpost 27 General Store your next stop for Polk County related items. It is located on Highway 27, just a half mile south of I-4 (at Exit 55).
