Find Holiday Cheer at Visitor Center

If you aren’t in the holiday spirit yet, Polk County’s Visitor Information Center, Polk Outpost 27, is ready to get you there with a series of concerts by Polk County school choirs and other festive holiday displays. The series will begin on December 10 when the Jewett Academy 6th Grade Choral Singers perform at 10:00 a.m. Other performances include the Lena Vista Elementary Choral singers on December 11 at 9:30 a.m. and the Haines City Strings, a group that consists of students from Haines City High School, Boone Middle School, and Daniel Jenkins that will perform on December 20 at 10:00 a.m. All the performances will last 45 minutes.
In addition to the music, visitors to Polk Outpost 27 will be able to experience Christmas displays put together by Polk County attractions and other points of interest. Bok Tower Gardens will have a display featuring Christmas at Pinewood, their mansion that is decorated for the holidays. Other displays will include: Chalet Suzanne with a display promoting the Chalet and their famous soups. The Lavender and Lace Tea Room with a display that encompasses the warm atmosphere of its tea room and gift shop located in Lake Alfred on Lake Shore Way. Also featured will be Embroidery and Print by Design, located in downtown historical Davenport on Market Street, displaying its unique products enhanced with intricate detailed and personalized embroidery for every occasion; Marqueen Antiques will have two displays, one showcases the rare finds of an antique shop and the other highlighting bass fishing and camping, The Hotel Tea Room will feature the vintage side of Polk County with a Victorian display and Eli’s Western wear will have a display highlighting Polk County’s western side.

All of the events and displays are free of charge and will be open to the public until December 30. Polk Outpost 27 is located on Highway 27 a half-mile South of I-4 at Exit 55.
