In 2009, Bok Tower Gardens is going to give you a unique chance to visit “under the stars” for the 2009 Moonlight Carillon Concert series beginning January 9 at 7:30 p.m. It’s a unique opportunity to visit the Gardens after normal operating hours for half-price admission and have a light dinner at the Blue Palmetto Café which will remain open until 7:30 p.m.
The hour-long concert will feature carillonneur William De Turk performing a variety of music including selections from the “Sound of Music.” Visitors can view De Turk’s performance on the video monitor located behind the Japanese Lantern and meet him by the Information Booth after the performance.
Since Bok is rarely open at night, you will see something unique during the concert series: moonlight streaming through moss-draped trees and flambeaux illuminating the pathways. The 2009 Moonlight Carillon Concert series continues February 7, March 15 and April 7 at 7:30 p.m.
After 5 p.m., admission is $5 for adults and $1.50 for children ages 5-12. Children under age 5 and members are admitted free. The Blue Palmetto Café and Gift Shop will be open until 7:30 p.m. The Visitor Center will remain open until 9 p.m. For more information, call 863-676-1408 or visit the Bok Tower website for more information.
