Are you still stressing over what to do with your significant other for Valentine’s Day? Bok Tower Gardens is trying to make it easier for you. They have a full day of activities lined up just waiting for couples to come and enjoy the day at the gardens. Here is what they have planned:
Sweetheart Tea & Bridge Party: Thursday, February 12 from 1 – 4 p.m.
Enjoy an afternoon playing bridge. Party includes a dessert buffet, wine and other beverages. A grand prize and door prizes including Gardens membership basket will be awarded.
Sunrise Azalea Walk & Breakfast: February 14, 7:30 a.m. – 10 a.m.
Get an insider’s peek into the new azalea varieties cultivated in the Gardens. Personally guided by Nursery Manager John Arnett, your small group will walk selected areas of Olmsted-designed gardens, pot a cutting to plant at home and receive a gift of one-gallon potted azalea as well. Conclude the morning walk with a breakfast during which John will continue to share his knowledge and experience of successful azalea gardening and answer your questions. $47 or members $39
Valentine’s Day Concerts: February 14, 2009 at 1 & 3 p.m.
Bells ring in romance on Valentine’s Day from the majestic Singing Tower with some traditional romantic favorites. Free with admission to the Gardens.
“Be My Valentine” Romantic Evening with Dinner at Pinewood: February 14, 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
Reflecting the romance of an era long past, the 1930s Mediterranean-style Pinewood Estate will be the elegant setting for an evening of epicurean delight á la Romana and strolling Italian musicians. Valentine’s Day-themed tables with three to four couples at each table will be set in the downstairs rooms showcasing five decades of elegance and grandeur. $150 per couple
So, there you go, your Valentine’s Day plans are all set. Now, you just need to find a Valentine. Good luck with that.
