Polk Museum of Art is trying something new for the next couple of months. On Thursday evenings, they’re going to stay open until 8pm so that more people will have a chance to see the really crazy cool exhibition of Gregory Barsamian’s artwork. The best part is that Museum members will be able to see the exhibition for free from 5-8 on those nights, and these hours will be in effect until June 4.
Beyond that, they’re also planning what sounds like a potentially cool program for the night of April 16. Florida Southern College Department of Psychology faculty and students will be conducting a discussion of what actually happens in your brain when you’re looking at Barsamians work. Apparently, it isn’t as simple as seeing movement; there are some interesting processes taking place to allow you to interpret what’s happening. Florida Southern students will be admitted FREE for this program. It starts at 6:30pm and should only last about an hour.
