Flying Tigers Announce 2010 Schedule

The Lakeland Flying Tigers have announced their 2010 Florida State League (FSL) schedule. They are set to begin their 60th season in the FSL and 44th as a Detroit Tigers minor league affiliate.  Lakeland first began playing in the FSL in 1919. The Flying Tigers will open the season on the road Thursday, April 8 in Tampa to take on the FSL champion Yankees and home fans will get their first look at the team when the Flying Tigers host Tampa on Friday, April 9 at 7:00 p.m. at Joker Marchant Stadium.  There will be special pre-game activities and ceremonies, BirdZerk, one of the widest and craziest shows in sports, will entertain fans during the game and there will be a spectacular post-game fireworks show.
The schedule is highlighted with home games on the 4th of July, Armed Forces Day, and several education day games.  A full promotional calendar will be released at a later date. Season tickets will go on sale on January 18 and individual tickets will be on sale beginning Feb. 27. To see the entire schedule, visit the Flying Tigers website.
