A Visit to “Blacklight by Al Kriston”
Posted on October 14th, 2011 by Bev Hendricks
I took a short break on Thursday to walk through “Blacklight by Al Kriston” currently on exhibit in Melvin Gallery at Florida Southern College. I was truly impressed by the refinement and quality of every sculpture, all of which show the human form in motion. The open space and gallery layout offer the viewer an opportunity to admire each and every one of the whimsical and graceful blacklight sculptures, the beautifully refined bronze and other media sculptures. This exhibit is of a quality I would expect to see in museums in Chicago, New York, Boston or San Francisco. And, it is a joy knowing the sculptures were created by a Winter Haven resident.
This was the most enjoyable 30 minute break I’ve taken in a long time. I highly recommend seeing “Blacklight by Al Kriston” before it closes. Find out for yourself, decide what you like and what you think. You will definitely leave inspired and smiling.
