9th Annual International Soccer Academy
Dates:
Tuesday, July 3 – Saturday, July 7
Venue: Lake Myrtle Park – Auburndale
-A five-day international Sasvari Way soccer camp for boys/girls age 14-22 (both overnight/residential and day camp/commuter options available).
-This unique camp serves the world’s players and uses soccer to bring together top international coaches and youth national & regional level players for a one of a kind experience in the USA’s top tourist destination.

Public Ice Skating

Venue:
The Lakeland Center
-Chill out this summer with ice skating at The Lakeland Center when Jenkins Arena cools down and transforms into an ice-covered rink.

Red, White & Kaboom
Date: Tuesday, July 3
Venue: Lake Mirror Complex – Lakeland
-Celebrate the 4th of July downtown at Lakeland’s annual “Red, White and Kaboom!”
-Enjoy live music from Channel Z band and be sure to catch the live fireworks display at 9pm!

Rock N’ Freedom Fest 2012
Date: Tuesday, July 3
Venue:
Winter Haven – Lake Silver/Martin Luther King Jr. Park
-Join the City of Winter Haven for a fun-filled family event on the south lawn of Lake Silver, at Martin Luther King, Jr. Park including live music by “Band Haven”, children’s activities, a water ski show by the Cypress Gardens Water Ski Team, Inc. and a firework display by Zambelli Fireworks at 9:15 p.m.

4th of July Independence Celebration
Date:
Wednesday, July 4
Venue:
Joker Marchant Stadium  – Lakeland
-The Flying Tigers will take on the Clearwater Threshers at 5:00 p.m., and the Flying Tigers will have holiday picnic themed games, contests, music and fun and will be wearing special patriotic red, white and blue jerseys.
-There will also be live music and entertainment following the game by the Sofa Kings, and a special parachute demo by the USSOCOM Parachute Demonstration Team.
-The dueling fireworks spectacular will begin at approximately 9:15 p.m. with two amazing fireworks displays skyrocketing at the same time choreographed to patriotic music.

Bartow 4th of July

Venue:
Bartow Civic Center
-Stop by the Bartow Civic Center and Mosiac Park, located next to the Civic Center, on the fourth for live entertainment and fireworks along with a carnival, children’s activities and food throughout the day. -Fireworks take place at 9:30 p.m.

Freedom Fest
Date:
Wednesday, July 4
Venue:
Eagle Ridge Mall – Lake Wales
-In partnership with the Eagle Ridge Mall, the City of Lake Wales is co-sponsoring an Independence Day Celebration at the Eagle Ridge Mall near the Food court.
-There will be games, bounce houses and various children’s activities.
-Kings Burgers and BBQ will serve hot dogs, burgers and BBQ, and there will be various other food and craft vendors.
-Live music will begin at 6:00 p.m. with local country music artist Michael Ray, and Aaron Tippin will perform at 7:45 p.m. The fireworks will begin at 9:30 p.m.

Lake Wales Arts Council’s 1st Annual 4th of July Bike Parade

Wednesday, July 4
Venue:
Lake Wales Art Center
-The Lake Wales Arts Council will host an artistic parade on the shores of Lake Wailes.
-The Arts Council will provide art supplies and instruction for children to decorate their bikes, trikes, wagons and scooters. Parents are encouraged to decorate their baby buggies.
-The parade will begin at 11:00 a.m. and go from the basketball court to the boat ramp and back. The Lake Wales YMCA will sponsor kids’ activities during the event.
-Participants can register at 9:00 a.m. near the basketball court.

Let Freedom Ring 2012
Date: Wednesday, July 4
Venue:
Bok Tower Gardens – Lake Wales
-All branches of the military (active, retired and disabled veterans) receive free admission with vaild identification.
-Guest carillonneur Lee Cobb will perform carillon concerts at 1 and 3 p.m. and the Singing Tower will ring 13 times at 2 p.m., simultaneously joining other carillons, courthouses, city halls and church bells across America, including the Liberty Bell in Philadelphia, to commemorate the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

Red Brick & Boom

Venue: LEGOLAND Florida
-Celebrate the 4th of July with a bang at LEGOLAND Florida’s first Independence Day event.
-With special 3D glasses that turn ordinary fireworks into millions of exploding bricks, this July 4th celebration is sure to dazzle and delight.

Thunder on the Ridge
Date: Wednesday, July 4
Venue:
Lake Eva Park – Haines City
-Enjoy the largest fireworks display in Polk County with plenty of arts, crafts, food vendors and children’s activities on site.
– John Michael Montgomery will performing live in concert at 7:00 p.m.

First Friday
Date:
Friday, July 6
Venue: Historic Munn Park – Downtown Lakeland
-FREE family friendly entertainment, activities, live music, art receptions & a car show in Downtown Lakeland.
-July’s theme is “Hats!” – You can leave your hat on for this First Friday. Wear your most creative, festive, or comfortable hat and be a part of the festivities

Movies in the Park

Venue:
Lake Eva Park – Haines City
-Movies in the park are the first and third Fridays of every month June through August.
– Pre-event activities start at 7:00 p.m., and the movie will begin at dusk.
-
Bring your lawn chairs, blankets and snacks.

Buckler’s Arts & Craft Show

Polk Museum of Art: Invisible Elephant

Polk Museum of Art – Lakeland
-Polk Museum of Art’s newest exhibit, “Invisible Elephant”,  features new works by Tampa-area artists Theo Wujcik and Kirk Ke Wang at Polk Museum of Art.

Saturday Night at Westgate River Ranch Resort

Venue: Westgate River Ranch – Lake Wales
-Cowpokes and bronco-busters descend upon Westgate River Ranch every Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. for an evening of fun for the whole family at the 1,200-seat rodeo arena.
-This real-life rodeo features trick riding, bull riding, calf roping, barrel racing, rodeo clown antics and a patriotic tribute to our armed forces.
-Kids are invited into the rodeo arena toward the end of the evening and get the opportunity to participate in a real “calf scramble.”

Tram Nature Tour at Circle B Bar Reserve

Circle B Bar Reserve – Lakeland
-Take a personalized tour of the Banana Creek Marsh with a volunteer guide who will point out plants, birds and history of the property.
-Nature Tour sign-ups begin on the first working day of each month.
