Local Favorites Highlights Reececliff Family Diner
Posted on September 7th, 2012 by Rebecca Thompson
The classic down-home feel of Reececliff comes as no surprise since this family diner has been a landmark in Lakeland, Florida for almost 80 years!
You are likely to grasp a feel for the past from the moment you set foot into this family restaurant. The first things you are likely to spot are the diner-style bar, the focal point, situated in the center of the restaurant and the historic black-and-white photographs displayed along the walls telling the story of Polk County’s past.
Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, Reececliff is open for all three meals and offers specials that change daily.
Their classic home-style menu has options for everyone from entrees and sandwiches to salads and soups to breakfast omelets served any time of day, and their menu includes dishes such as roast beef, fried chicken, spaghetti and grouper.
Don’t fill up before having dessert, though! With Apple Crisp, Peach Cobbler, custard, hand-dipped shakes and Miss Jeannette’s homemade blueberry, cherry, chocolate cream, bourbon chocolate pecan and coconut cream pie, there is no shortage of dessert.
Tradition and consistency are two traits this family diner truly values. So much so, that the same expert, Miss Jeanette, has been baking pies at Reececliff for more than 50 years, and the head chef has been serving up dishes for over 40 years!
The service is fast and friendly, the atmosphere is pleasant, and the food is full of quality.
Stop by Reececliff on your next dining experience for a warm southern meal or a slice of homemade pie!
The diner is located on South Florida Avenue in Lakeland.
