Halloween events are popping up all across the county this month. We’ve compiled a list of these seasonal events, so you won’t miss out on the festive fun!

Haunted Hanger Storytelling TourOctober 1-31
Location: Fantasy of Flight
– Take a spine-tingling walk through the spooky side of Fantasy of Flight during the month of October.

CornFusion Corn Maze 2012October 19-November 25 (Weekends)
The Smith Family Ranch in Lakeland
– Fun for the entire family at this Lakeland attraction featuring a corn maze, corn box, corn cannon, country store, cow train, mini maze, hayride, pumpkin patch, pony ride and jumping pillow.

October 26

BOO! Bash Halloween Celebration
Location: Explorations V Children’s Museum
10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
–  Hands-on Halloween fun and games, prizes, snacks and music all included with admission.

Naturally Creepy Trick or Treating
Location: Bok Tower Gardens
6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Creepy crawlies, spider webs and sneaky plants come alive at night during an evening of safe trick-or-treating.

Halloween at Westgate River RanchOctober 26-28
Westgate River Ranch
- Come enjoy Halloween at River Ranch to experience the haunted hayride, Westgate rodeo Halloween costume party, pumpkin decorating and many more fun activities.

October 27

Family Halloween Party
Location: Polk Museum of Art
4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
– This vintage Halloween celebration includes a scavenger hunt, Halloween-themed games, “icky story time” and a (not-too-very) scary movie.

October 31

Trick or Treat Lane
Location: Eagle Lake
6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
- The annual Trick or Treat Lane will be held at the City of Eagle Lake Complex  on 75 N. 7th Street for a safe and fun trick or treat environment for everyone.


Halloween Thrills for the Big:

Buckingham Terror Haunted HouseOctober 19-31
Buckingham Avenue, Lakeland
7:30 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
- Tread with care as you encounter menacing scarecrows, ravenous livestock and the remaining Waterson family members at this Haunted House on Buckingham Avenue in Lakeland.

 Zombie Paintball Hayride at CornFusion 2012October 19-November 25 (weekends)
Location: The Smith Family Ranch, Lakeland
7:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.
– Every Friday, Saturday & Sunday, mow down zombies with paintball guns on a hayride through infected swamps, a scrapyard and a corn field at CornFusion in Lakeland.
No one under 4ft tall (for safety purposes).

October 19

Haunted Masquerade Ball
Ritz Theatre
7:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.
– This event will feature Howl at the Moon’s Dueling Pianos, hors d’oeuvre, drinks and dessert.

October 20 

nightFlight Phase 3October 20 & November 3
Location: Fantasy of Flight
9:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.
- Due to Apollo Paranormal Investigations’ high paranormal activity results, Fantasy of Flight has invited the general public to nightFlight, an exciting after-hours program that offers adventurous visitors four full hours to “Explore the Unexplained.”

October 25

Ghosts of BartowOctober 25-26
Location: Polk County History Center
7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
– Explore the spooky and colorful past of old Bartow at the annual “Ghosts of Bartow Walking Tour” while venturing on a one hour guided walk around the blocks surrounding the historic Polk County Courthouse and enjoying a few tales about the haunting and strange occurrences nearby.
- Tours are not recommended for ages 10 and under.

October 26

Murder Mystery Dinner at the Ramon Theater
Location: Ramon Theater
7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
– Be part of a live murder mystery game, The Cat Screamed at Midnight, while dining at the Ramon Theater.

Rocky Horror Picture Show at Polk TheatreOctober 26-27
The Polk Theatre
10:00 p.m. – 2:00 a.m.
- The Rocky Horror Picture Show is the 1975 film adaptation of the British rock musical stage play, and is presented by The Lipstick Players at the Polk Theatre.

Fall Festival Delight:

Safari Wilderness Fall FestivalOctober 1-28
Safari Wilderness Ranch
9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
- Visit the wildest fall festival around at Safari Wilderness Ranch in Lakeland with an African safari, petting zoo, free-flight aviary, pumpkin patch and fire pit all included with admission.

October 20

Location: Bok Tower Gardens
8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
– Enjoy live entertainment, German food, craft beers, tree climbing , children’s activities and a plant sale.

Polk State College’s Annual FallFest
Polk State College
9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
- Thousands trek to the campus each third Saturday in October to enjoy the event that features a craft show, Kids Zone, music, police and EMS demonstrations, pumpkin patch, food, haunted house and more.

October 27

Outpost 27 Fall Festival
Polk Outpost 27
10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
- This fall festival will highlight area attractions and will include: a bounce house, obstacle course, free candy bag, craft and food vendors, games, movies and, of course, a pumpkin decorating contest with three age categories (3-9 years old, 10-15 years old, and 16 years to adult).
