Historic Lake Mirror Tours
Date:
Tuesday, October 23
Venue:
Downtown Lakeland
- Take a historic walking tour through Downtown Lakeland.
- Scheduled on the fourth Tuesday of the month.
- Call the Lake Mirror rental office to reserve a spot.

Ghosts of Bartow Walking Tour

Polk County History Center, Bartow
- Explore the spooky and colorful past of old Bartow at the annual “Ghosts of Bartow Walking Tour” while venturing on a one hour guided walk around the blocks surrounding the historic Polk County Courthouse and enjoying a few tales about the haunting and strange occurrences nearby.
- Tours are not recommended for ages 10 and under.

Paintball Sports Promotions World Cup

Venue:
Fantasy of Flight, Polk City
- Over 250 teams and countless dealers from around the world will be travel to Fantasy of for the 2012 World Cup of Paintball, the largest paintball event in the United States.
- Competitors from around the world will compete in this four-day event.

Boo! Bash Halloween Celebration

Explorations V Children’s Museum, Lakeland
- Boo! Bash features hands-on interactive fun with games, prizes, snacks, music and movement all included with admission to Explorations V Children’s Museum.

Joggin’ for the Nogging! 5k

Polk State College, Lakeland
- The inaugural Joggin’ for the Noggin! 5k to benefit Polk State College Foundation promises to be a fun and scary Halloween themed race.
- This 3.1 mile race includes gravel road, grass and a trek on the Fort Fraser Trail. “
- This race will be chip timed, and awards will be presented to the top 3 in standard 5-year age groups, overall male and female, masters and grand masters.
- Runners are encouraged to wear costumes.

Movies on the Lawn in Bartow

- Bring the family to Movies on the Lawn a Bartow Chamber of Commerce event taking place on the fourth Friday of every month.

Murder Mystery Dinner at the Ramon Theater

- Be part of a live murder mystery game, The Cat Screamed at Midnight, while dining at the Ramon Theater.

Naturally Creepy Trick or Treating

- Bring your treat bag and explore the Gardens after-dark to find candy stations hidden along the torch-lit pathways.
- This special after-hours activity at the Gardens is open to kids of all ages as a safe and not-so-scary Halloween alternative.

Rocky Horror Picture Show

- The Polk Theatre and Florida Dance Theatre present the Rocky Horror Picture Show, the 1975 film adaptation of the British rock musical stage play.

Halloween at Westgate River Ranch

- Enjoy Halloween at River Ranch to experience the haunted hayride, Westgate rodeo Halloween costume party, pumpkin decorating and many more fun activities.

Pioneer Days Festival

Venue: Lake Wales
- Activities include crafters, demonstrators, re-enactors, an Antique Car Parade, a free architectural carriage tour, entertainment and much more.
- The Pioneer of the Year will be announced Saturday during Pioneer Hour.

The 28th Annual Munn Park Extravaganza

Lakeland
- The Garden Club of Lakeland presents a free plant sale at Munn Park.
- Enjoy a day of activities while exploring the many plants and flowers for sale at the  28th Annual Munn Park Garden Extravaganza featuring over 50 vendors selling large varieties of plants and flowers.

Family Halloween Party

Venue: Polk Museum of Art, Lakeland
- This vintage Halloween celebration includes a scavenger hunt, Halloween-themed games, “icky story time” and a (not-too-very) scary movie.

Hispanic Festival of Polk County
Date: Saturday, October 27
Venue: Lake Mirror Complex, Lakeland
- Over 30,000 Hispanics will gather to celebrate our culture and heritage. We invite everyone to come and enjoy this successful event.

Over 55 Show Band
Date: Saturday, October 27
Venue: Polk State College, Winter Haven
- The Over 55 Show Band is composed of musicians ranging in age from 40 to 80, and it has been performing in the area for more than 20 years.

Polk Outpost 27 Fall Festival
Date: Saturday, October 27
Venue: Polk Outpost 27, Davenport
- Polk County’s official visitor information center, Polk Outpost 27, will help visitors welcome the fall season this year with its sixth annual Fall Festival.
-  This year will highlight area attractions and will also include a bounce house, obstacle course, free candy bag, craft and food vendors, games, movies and a pumpkin decorating contest.

Polk Museum of Art, Lakeland
- The exhibition is the first Smithsonian show traveling to the Polk Museum of Art, which became a Smithsonian affiliate in August 2010.
- This exhibition features 24 color photographs from the 1930s and 1940s and includes actors Lucille Ball and Roy Rogers, trumpeter Louis Armstrong, baseball star Ted Williams, Olympian Babe Didrikson Zaharias and General George S. Patton.
