Keeping Theatre Alive in Polk County
Posted on November 9th, 2012 by Christine Clark
Thanks to technology advances, people can watch movies and TV in 3-D, high definition, record shows and rewind live TV, but even with all of the wonderful new ways to get lost in a great movie or TV show, there is still nothing like sitting in a theatre and witnessing great stories come to life on an actual stage. Many people enjoy watching a musical or play to appreciate the art of acting; others enjoy the whole experience of a “night on the town”. Whatever the reason, the theatre is still delivering its magic for everyone to enjoy.
The Polk Theatre was founded in 1928 by Lakeland business man John E. Melton. The theatre offers films, plays, musicals, ballets, singers, and so much more.
