Bok Tower Gardens Presents the Holiday Home Tour at Pinewood Estate
Posted on November 28th, 2012 by Christine Clark
The holidays always bring the creative side out in all of us. Whether it’s decorating the Christmas tree, hanging up lights, wrapping presents with shiny paper and glittery bows or filling the house with festive decorations, it seems as though we all get in touch with our creative side. Even with the amazing decorations we see all over town, there is one spectacular site that is unlike any other. Each year, Bok Tower Gardens presents its Holiday Home Tour at Pinewood Estate. This is an enormous 20-room Mediterranean-style home decorated for the holidays inside and out. This winter retreat is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Every year this amazing display is based on one specific theme, and this year’s theme is “The Nature of the Holidays.” Each of the rooms, hallways, and entrances are decorated by a different designer and has its own focus, but still coordinates with the overall theme. Each guest will receive a program packed with historical information about the fascinating 1930’s house and a explanation about each room’s design. This amazing house will flourish in thousands of lights, hundreds of feet of garland, tons of faux snow and 15 fully decorated Christmas trees.
Take the Holiday Home Tour at Pinewood Estate 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. on Monday through Saturday and 12:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. on Sundays through the new year. Admission is $20 for adults and $9 for ages 5-12. There will be free admission to the Estate on December 25 from 12:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. (these prices also include gate admission to Bok Tower Gardens.) The house will display its holiday décor though January 6.
Also, don’t forget to check out some of the other amazing holiday events going on at Bok Tower Gardens including concerts, walking tours, musical performances and a workshop where you can make all-natural ornaments.
