Halloween events are popping up across the county this month. We’ve compiled a list of these seasonal events, so you won’t miss out on the festive fun!

HALLOWEEN FUN:

Brick or Treat Weekends

Where? LEGOLAND®  Florida, Winter Haven
What? This spooky, kooky event features a Haunted Scavenger Hunt in Miniland USA, trick-or-treating along the brick-or-treat trail, LEGO build activities, the largest LEGO Jack-O-Lantern in the world, Halloween entertainment and an all-kids costume with brick-tastic prizes!

CornFusion Corn Maze & Zombie Paintball 
When?
Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays through October 27
Where? 
The Smith Family Ranch, Lakeland
What?  Fun for the entire family at this Lakeland attraction featuring a corn maze, corn box, corn cannon, country store, cow train, mini maze, hayride, pumpkin patch, pony ride,  jumping pillow and zombie paintball hayrides.

Ghost Stories
When?
October 11
Where? Bartow Public Library
What? Join Polk County Parks and Recreation for a spooky night of ghost tales for the entire family.

Halloween Film Festival
When?
October 11
Where? 
Medulla Resource Center, Lakeland
What? Join Polk County Parks and Recreation for a free movie with refreshments (Epic, rated PG), contests (costume and coloring), arts & crafts, and a trick-or-treat village.

Downtown Lakeland ZombieFest
When? October 12
Where? Munn Park, Lakeland
What? Downtown Lakeland welcomes you to the second annual ZombieFest featuring live music, food vendors, costume contest, pub crawl, and a zombie walk are just some of the fun we have planned.

Halloween Spooktacular
When? October 12
Where?  Wabash Community Center, Lakeland
What? Polk County Parks and Recreation present this free kids Halloween party with arts & crafts, a trick or treat village, and movie (ParaNorman, rated PG).

BeFly Bikes Ghost Tours
When? October 13, 20, 27
Where? Lakeland
What? BeFly Bike Tours Presents: Ghost Tours with special guest, Lisa Ricigliano, Paranormal Investigator. The tour hauntings include: Tunnels at Lake Mirror, Mosswood, The Deen House, and Florida Southern College.

Bloodhound Bash
When? October 17
Where? Downtown Auburndale
What? The City of Auburndale and Auburndale High School presents the 2013 Bloodhound Bash, an event known as “The world’s largest pep rally”. The Bash will feature a parade and entertainment by The Imperial Sound of Auburndale High School. High school clubs will be onsite vending food, drinks, and merchandise.

Buckingham Terror
When?

Where? 
Buckingham Avenue, Lakeland
What? Tread with care as you encounter menacing scarecrows, ravenous livestock and the remaining Waterson family members at this Haunted House on Buckingham Avenue in Lakeland.

Haunted Halloween Hayride & Happenings
When?

Where?  Loyce E. Harpe Park, Mulberry
What? Join Polk County Parks & Recreation to celebrate Halloween with a haunted hayride, carnival games, live entertainment, arts & crafts, contests (costume and pie eating), a kids zone with kiddie train and inflatable bounce houses, Rescue Road (vehicles and demos from Polk County Fire Rescue and Emergency Management), a trick or treat village, and more.

BOO! Bash Halloween Celebration
When? October 25
Where? 
Explorations V Children’s Museum, Lakeland
What?  BOO! Bash provides hands-on Halloween fun and games. Children and their caregivers are encouraged to wear their finest storybook, fairytale or super hero costume (child-friendly, of course) to take the excitement up a notch. BOO! Games, prizes, snacks, music and movement are all included with admission while supplies last.

Joggin’ for the Noggin! 5k

 Polk State College Lakeland Campus
What? The second annual Joggin’ for the Noggin! 5k to benefit Polk State College Foundation promises to be a fun and SCARY, Halloween themed race. The run will feature zombies on the trail to put pep in steps. Be prepared to be SCARED. This is a family-friendly race and will include spooky and fun activities for all ages.

Trick or Treat Party

What? This Polk County Parks and Recreation event is a free community Halloween party with candy, activities for the whole family, and more.

Naturally Creepy Trick or Treating
When? October 25
Where? Bok Tower Gardens, Lake Wales
What? Creepy crawlies, spider webs and sneaky plants come alive at night during an evening of safe trick-or-treating. Bring your treat bag and explore the Gardens after-dark to find candy stations hidden along the torch-lit pathways. This special after-hours activity at the Gardens is open to kids of all ages as a safe and not-so-scary Halloween alternative.

Rocky Horror Picture Show

The Polk Theatre, Lakeland
What? The Rocky Horror Picture Show is the 1975 film adaptation of the British rock musical stage play, and is presented by The Lipstick Players at the Polk Theatre.

Murder She Rhymed Murder Mystery Dinner
When? October 26
Where? 
Ramon Theater, Frostproof
What? Join the Ramon Theater for an evening of mystery, food and fun. Costumes are welcomed, and prizes will be awarded. Dinner is included, along with our own cast of characters.

Fantasy of Flight, Polk City
What? Always a guest favorite, this is no haunted house; this is a real Paranormal Investigation. Join the experts with Apollo Paranormal Investigations on this unique journey through the Fantasy of Flight hangars after dark.

Flying Tigers Halloween Spooktacular

Joker Marchant Stadium, Lakeland
What? The Flying Tigers will hosttheir first ever Halloween Spooktacular at Joker Marchant Stadium this Halloween featuring candy, face painters, bounce houses, balloon artists, games and more!

Oktoberfest

Where? Central Park, Winter Haven
What? Celebrate Oktoberfest at the annual Main Street Winter Haven event in beautiful Central Park featuring beer, bratwurst and live music.

Boktoberfest

Bok Tower Gardens, Lake Wales
What?  Enjoy live entertainment, German food, craft beers, tree climbing and children’s activities and a plant sale.

Polk State College’s Annual FallFest
When?

Polk State College, Winter Haven
What?
 Thousands trek to the campus each third Saturday in October to enjoy the event that features a craft show, the Kids Zone, music, police and EMS demonstrations, the Pumpkin Patch, food, the Haunted House, and more.

Polk Outpost 27 Fall Festival
When? 
October 26
Where? 
 Polk Outpost 27, Davenport
What? Polk County’s official visitor information center  will help visitors welcome the fall season this year with its sixth annual Fall Festival.  In addition to representatives from area attractions, two bounce houses, free candy, food vendors, games, movies and a pumpkin decorating contest will be onsite at the event.

Pioneer Days Festival
When? 
October 26-27
Where? 
 shores of Lake Wailes, Lake Wales
What? Activities include crafters, demonstrators, re-enactors, an Antique Car Parade, a free architectural carriage tour, children’s activities, an antique car parade, entertainment and much more. The Pioneer of the Year will be announced Saturday at 10:00 a.m. during Pioneer Hour.

Autumn Arts and Crafts Bazaar
When?

Where? 
 Downtown Auburndale
What? Enjoy the works of handmade crafters and fine artists, food, live entertainment, a student art exhibit, and Historic Baynard House Tours.

Kathleen Area Historical Society Fall Festival
When? 
November 2
Where? 
 Heritage Park, Lakeland
What? Spend the morning with the Kathleen Area Historical Society watching the cane syrup process, enjoying breakfast and lunch as well as entertainment, games/activities, storytelling, and more.

    Lake Wales Pioneer Days is also an option. The dates are October 26-27 on the shores of Lake Wailes there will be food crafts, entertainment, children’s activities, an architectural carriage tour, an antique car parade, reenactments, demonstrators and the Pioneer of the Year will be named. Hours are 9-5 on Saturday and 11-5 on Sunday. Call 863-678-4182×270 for additional information.

    don’t forget about the sheriff office’s haunted jail tours! I believe itrunsthis weekend and next and, for the first time, they will have safe trick or treating!

    Join Greater Faith Temple Church (220 West Beacon Road, 33803) November 9th from 10am-4pm at our 1st Annual Fall Craft Bazaar. This event is fun for all ages! They’ll be wonderful handmade crafts; kids activities; and of course FOOD!!! Whether you’re putting the finishing touches on your holiday shopping or just out for a stroll, stop by and see us! Bring a non-perishable food item for our Thanksgiving ministry and receive a token of thanks. ***There are a few vendor spaces available; If interested, contact 863-409-9976 or 863-398-7926.
