REAL IMAGINATION: Heroes of Flight

Attention youngsters and young-at-heart-sters: Join us for the wildly-entertaining, audience-engaging “REAL IMAGINATION: Heroes of Flight,” a live-performance romp through time and adventure, featuring aviation rock-stars Leonardo da Vinci, Charles Lindbergh, Amelia Earhart, and most importantly, YOU. All you need to add is your own imagination, fold in a fun-filled day at Fantasy of Flight, and shake until fully mixed, yielding airplane fun for all ages. Warning: you may learn a thing or two too!

“REAL IMAGINATION: Heroes of Flight” will be presented at 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. on Sat., Aug. 29 and 1:00 p.m. on Sun., Aug. 30 and is included with Fantasy of Flight general admission and free for Annual Pass holders.
As an added value, time traveling aviator Ophelia Ida Lightheart, the newest “character” to join Fantasy of Flight’s Real Imagination Players, will be on hand to read Kermit Weeks’s award winning children’s book All of Life is a School aloud between performances of Real Imagination: Heroes of Flight.  A grand storyteller reminiscent of Mother Goose, Lightheart not only tells stories, but also sings and makes mischief wherever or whenever she travels.

Stuff the Bus
Donate School Supplies at Fantasy of Flight to receive $8 off Admission
August 1-31, 2009

Partnering with the Polk County Kiwanis Clubs, Fantasy of Flight will participate in the ‘Stuff The Bus’ program by collecting school supplies to benefit the Polk Education Foundation. Fantasy of Flight is offering visitors who donate school supply items from the accepted list $8 off full-priced admission (adult or child) for each donation, August 1-31, 2009. The list of needed items that will qualify for the admission discount and provide support to Polk County school children is available at www.fantasyofflight.com  The admission discount will only apply for items listed and donated school supplies must be presented at the attraction’s admissions counter to qualify for the discount. Not valid with any other offers, discounts, annual passes or special events.

 Service Industry Summer – July 1 – Sept. 30

All employees of Florida accommodations, restaurants and bars are invited to visit Fantasy of Flight with a special buy one, get one free admission offer this summer. The complimentary admission is valid when accompanied by a guest purchasing a paid admission ticket of equal or greater value. This Service Industry Summer rate is only valid July 1 – Sept. 30, 2009.  Individuals must present proof of employment at the Fantasy of Flight admission desk to qualify for the discount. Not valid with any other offers, discounts, annual passes or during special events.

The Last Big Splash  – Saturday, Sept. 26 – Sunday, Sept. 27

An action-packed weekend featuring a variety of seaplane demonstrations paired with extreme sport parachutists “swooping” in for a splash of their own. Join the Seaplane Pilots Association and the Florida Canopy Pilots Association at Fantasy of Flight for this unique event.

Haunted Hangar Walking Tour – Daily, Oct. 1-31, 2009

Take a spine-tingling walk through the spooky side of Fantasy of Flight during the month of October.
